Getting There
Journey on a two-hour horseback guided excursion or a two-four hour hike through Montezuma town early in the morning - timing it with low tide - skirting north exploring the coastal forests, seeing the amazing red sands of Piedra Colorada Beach, following winding paths inside the rainforest and coming suddenly upon freshwater streams running into the ocean – perfect to rest and cool down -, past Playa Grande under the flaming sun – don't forget your hat -, you will go along the border of two wildlife reserves to arrive at the northern end of Playa Cocalito.
Faint-hearted travelers prefer to drive from Montezuma or Mal Pais to Cobano and follow the signs for the hotel Tango Mar. Park your car and head to the beach going south at low tide and you will find El Chorro Waterfall (aka Cocalito Waterfall).
